Pellet Hops

Topaz is among one of the many new hop varieties coming out of Australia. It is a relatively high alpha acid content for a dual purpose hop! Its characteristics have been described as grassy and resinous, with some light tropical notes. Depending on the beer and how it is used, different flavors can be coaxed out of this hop. Dry hopping with this hop tends to produce resin-heavy flavor and aroma characteristics. Some light fruit and tropical flavors and aromas also appear in high gravity beers. An interesting hop from down under with a lot of potential!

Low in alpha but big on aroma. This spicy gem is the signature hop of Pilsner Urquell.

Also known as HBC 366, Equinox was developed by the Hop Breeding Company, and is now available to you the homebrewer. It is being used by such breweries as Brooklyn Brewery and Sierra Nevada, so it is an already proven variety. A pronounced aroma profile with citrus, tropical fruit, floral and herbal characteristics. The diversified and pronounced aroma characteristics combined with extremely high oil content and a tight cone structure make this hop variety very unique and one you should try out for your next hoppy masterpiece.

Used for both bittering and aroma. Earthy and spicy, this hop is a great substitute for Willamette or Fuggles.

Saphir is a German hop that was released in 2002 from the Hop Research Center in Hull, Germany. It is a good substitute for recipes calling for Hallertau, and will provide distinct spicy, fruit, and tangerine tones to your homebrew. Described as a good aroma variety hop, with a distinct hoppy tang.
